Welcome to 2025! A whole new year is ahead of us, providing plenty of opportunities to make beautiful sewn items that we can gift to others.
This tidbit covers the topic of philanthropy, the heart of the Crazy Quilters Guild. The Crazy Quilters philanthropy program provides me with an outlet for the quilts I make. I love to create quilts, and I sew every day. However, if I kept everything I sew, I would be up to my ears in quilts in my Laguna Woods Manor. Not a good look!.

The Year in Review
Philanthropy is a big part of the vision and mission of the Crazy Quilters. Every year we donate quilts to a variety of organizations including Memorial Care Infusion Center for Chemo patients, Orangewood Family Center, Orangewood Foundation, Veterans, OC Rescue Mission, Laguna Woods Fire Station and the Florence Sylvester Senior Center.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Now we are moving our guild into the new year! We have an excursion to the Road to California Quilt Show coming up in January. There’s sure to be plenty of inspiration and products for everyone, no matter what your level of expertise!
Let us know what you’d like to see happen in the guild this year… are there specific presenters or types of quilting styles you would like to see in our program meetings? What organization(s) would you like to see benefit from our philanthropy? What workshops or presenters would you like to see? And how would you like to be involved? You can text, call, email, or talk to me at a meeting. Feel free to speak with any of our officers or committee chairs!

The bus leaves Laguna Woods Village Clubhouse 3
at 9:00 am and returns at 5:00 pm
$65 for members, $70 for nonmembers
Includes: Round trip bus transportation,
fuel surcharge,
bus parking,
driver’s tip,
snacks on the bus
and a multi-day ticket to the show.
