Tips & Tricks
Speed-Quilting and Strip-Piecing
on a Longarm Machine

Spray windex on it.. get the clear kind for this application.. this is just so you can quilt it without getting sick from the smell. (Windex takes the smell away from Gasoline, Diesel, Cat urine, Must and several other things. I use it regularly.

After you have finished the quilt. Wash it with a cup of regular windex in your wash water.. and use color catchers just incase there's any bleed. If there is light bleed your okay but if there is major bleed, since your material is 10 years old look for shredding first... wash again with either a cup of salt or vinegar or retain And color catchers.  Contributed by Donna Karbach

May 2022
A Method for Starching Pre-Cut Fabrics

There is a song that tells us April showers bring May flowers. In my neighborhood in Laguna Woods Village, May marks the time when the two magnolia trees in the front yard fill with huge white magnolia blossoms. Magnolias are so lovely when they bloom, and I enjoy them so very much. Currently, the trees are covered in buds, and they should bloom any day now. However, as I write this, my thoughts move directly to the celebration of Cinco de Mayo with all the great food and beverages it offers. Happy May to you, however you “may” celebrate. Enchiladas and margaritas anyone?
